Dr. Mark Abumoussa graduated from the University of North Carolina and went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi College receiving his Master’s Degree in Biology-Medical Sciences. He received his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was the recipient of both the Wilder Medical Scholarship and the Thomas J Dark Medical Scholarship.
He has conducted research and studied Clinical Neurosurgery and Pain Medicine at several different universities, colleges, and research centers. His interests include interventional procedures targeted at pain pathway modification, including spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators, and DRG. He completed his anesthesiology training in Charleston, SC, and speaks 3 languages including English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Dr. Abumoussa is an avid volunteer at youth organizations and in his free time also enjoys soccer, basketball, tennis, everything UNC sports, and hiking/mountaineering. He has a passion for serving the Latin community and plans to do mission work in South America with his twin brother.
